It’s been an exciting and inspiring year for Age is a Stage, with our classes at The Theatre Royal and Ropetackle Centre going from strength to strength. With new faces and old hands, both groups have grown into vibrant and supportive communities. They’ve also spawned regular social events such as Christmas parties and theatre trips.
The classes offer the unique chance to have fun on the stages of the Theatre Royal and Ropetackle. Age is a Stage founder, Chris Cresswell has decades of experience in performing in as well as teaching theatre, clowning and cabaret circus.
The beauty of the drop-in classes is that you can come along in a supportive environment, have lots of fun and laugh, but also learn skills and boost your confidence as you go. If you fancy taking this further, then there is even the chance to perform at the Spiegeltent on 9th and 30th May 2024.
Here at Age is a Stage we’re building on the success of our first ever Fringe Show, Beyond the Nose, staged in in May 2023 to rave reviews. Our 2024 show, Insurrection Shuffle, will feature Chris along with a merry band of our Age is a Stage workshop regulars, in sketches utilising mime, dance, and improvisation.
To prepare for the show, Age is a Stage is running weekly Advanced Classes on Monday mornings in Brighton. No need to book – just turn up!
If you’ve been thinking about joining us at one of our drop-in classes, don’t hesitate. You’ll be warmly welcome and you’ll soon be hooked!
We’re thinking big for 2024, so watch this space for details of further classes and courses coming soon.
